A few weeks ago, before the Black-Mirror-Jjumanji-Mad-Max-12-Monkeys movie that is our actual fucking lives right now took another expected turn for the worse, my friends @TheStyxChyx asked me to submit a piece to their virtual art exhibition, featuring works by a diverse group of talented artists in a 3D virtual gallery setting.

What to submit I wondered 🤔… As it so often does, my mind drifted right to Shakespeare, or more specifically to Hamlet, where there is buried one of Billy’s characters who I might relate to the most. “Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him well. A fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. Imaginative AF, but low key wanted to punch dude sometimes, plus homeboy owed me hella scrill.” Act 5: Scene 1

The skull of Yorick, represents the inevitability of death and the seemingly existential meaninglessness of life in light of this fact. But it also reminds us all that no one takes their bullshit with them when they go; they leave it behind with those who remember them for it. And on the other side of that coin, your good deeds won’t mean much when you’re in the ground, but for those you leave behind, they’ll mean everything.

Please head over to @TheStyxChyx and click the link in their bio to check out the gallery. Let us all know what you think.
