DEVOTCHKA
DeVotchKa is a four-piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble. They take their name from the Russian word devochka (девочка), meaning “girl”. Based in Denver, Colorado, the quartet is made up of Nick Urata, who sings and plays the guitar, bouzouki, piano, and trumpet; Tom Hagerman, who plays violin, accordion, and piano; Jeanie Schroder, who sings and plays sousaphone, double bass, and flute; and Shawn King, who plays percussion and trumpet.

ABOUT ME
Long-time art director and graphic designer. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a BFA in digital art, I joined Rage Unlimited, a Boulder-based creative firm specializing in apparel design, corporate identity, and product development. I’ve worked closely with many Colorado businesses as well as a variety of national and international companies and campaigns.
Drawn to design as a means to explore new ideas, I plan to continue helping people and organizations communicate their purpose in imaginative and exploratory ways that resonate with their unique audiences.
I would consider myself a creative, motivated and highly adaptable designer and art director with over a decade of practical experience in a variety of different marketing and graphic arenas. Over the course of my career, both as an art director and a freelancer, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects for an even more diverse set of clients. This diversity is what encouraged and allowed me to develop an adaptive nature as well as versatile skill set. I am driven, have a great work ethic and pride myself on always taking the initiative.
