Pharaoh: Yo scribe, I need a way to communicate to the people that I’m literally always right, that the Gods totally carved me out of a solid block of awesome, and that everyone should fear me and do exactly what I say! What’s up!?
Scribe: Umm… Ok, I can like, try to invent a written language that over time would provide shared meaning and structure to these key concepts you’d like to describe.
Pharaoh: Yeah, dope! But like, make it all in picture form so that all I have to do is put one little scarab thingy on my lapel and then whenever people look at it they immediately know all those baller things about me! LIT!!
